Skype meeting Turkish and Dutch students

Skype meeting Turkish and Dutch students

17.04.2012

This year we celebrate 400 years of diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and Turkey. In 1612 the first Dutch ambassador, Cornelis Haga, arrived in Istanbul after four months of travelling. Thanks to the internet students from the oldest academies from both countries can meet in only one afternoon; the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul, and the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague.

In the last few weeks the Dutch students graphic design further developed their ideas for a visual identity for the (not yet existing) European police. The Turkish fashion students started their research into the perception of the police in Turkey. Today they met for the first time via a skype meeting. Despite of the distance (more than 2.700 km) the Dutch students could clarify their ideas and the Turkish students could react on them.

Within a few weeks they'll meet again. We are very curious to see what the Turkish students come up with. Will their vision on how the European police should look like differ from the ideas of students from one of the European Union founders?
