The creme color represents the future, as it replaces the old blue and yellow, while white is added as a sign of peace. the oval pretty much represents the globe as well. the image is a compass as a whole from an angle.

Six lead the way to unity
Thom Cicchelli, USA
Concept: Update the current flag elements, making them more revelant. Six royal blue stars represent the founding EU member nations. As they symbolicly travel through the letter "U" in "EU", they are followed by the 21 additional members stars, completing the circle of unity. Colours gold and light blue would remain as in the current flag. This design heightens the EU's history and visability on the world stage.
MGUNITY05
Marco Grieco, Portugal
UNITY is the main message of this flag. The small blue dots create a pattern that represents the diversity and the international community where the 27 white European dots/stars are inserted. At the same time, it shows the immigrant importance in the Continent. It’s simple and has the dynamic possibility to evolve as the Europe Union grows.
EuropeLovesYou
A positive, open, dynamic and friendly symbol. The Union grows from the universal concept of love, that is about goodwill, tolerance, patience, faithfulness and endurance. Built up by respecting the variety of cultures and identities. Readable from the left to the rigth and viceversa. Opened and powerfull strokes in reference to the waves to represent our economy . A symbol Tracing out the route to be followed by all the communities who migrate to these lands, free like a bird who chooses its best track.
