A new symbol for Europe

EU Project includes implicit letters ( EU European Union), it can be taken for advantage as a universal sign, as a flag, a logo or signature of EU. The logotype use simple symbols such as =. The colours without changes as they are well recognizable.

The shape is the middle section of the Celtic symbol for unity, which I narrowed down to remove the possibility of people reading it as a Celtic symbol. The colours that are used, including the white background, are the four most commonly used colours in the flags of the European Union.

This logo which is the constitution of a proper circle by the combination of two independent forms, expresses intercultural merging and an effort to build a new world.

Europe is an open circle and welcomes new members!

The idea of this symbol is to give the existing European flag elements-stars and circle, a new shape, new dimension adjusted to the present, past and future of the European Union. Stars representing the EU members join the circle, union, forming the letter E-for Europe.

Оn the vertical side to the pole to flag, the belt is placed ornament as a symbol of ancient Europe. Five blue yellow horizontal bands forming the letter E, as a symbol of equality, where all elements of the letter E are equal.

The circle as a symbol of equality and unity is set up so that its external and internal lines of the Parliament (which are all equal) while the stars represent the four sides of the world.

The blue background symbolises prosperity. The 27 humans forming the "e" are representing the current members of the EU. They are holding hands to symbolise that they are living and working together in unity. The gap in the "e" shows that there still is an opening to others wanting to be a part of the union (and it is possible to fill inn more people in the flag if the EU expands).

I chose the sign of victory which is especially strong in my country (Poland)that reminds me of solidarity and special unity between people. 12 hands are forming one big star which is a reference to the European Union flag.

A curved line describes Europe as a part of earth. It means that the Europe has a strong responsibility for sustaining earth.

"EURO SUNRAYS" The sunrays connotes the uplifting of the spirits of European countries for higher achievements. The sunrays' three shades of yellow symbolizes the central focus for a unified European community, gearing towards efforts on peace, economic progress and integration. The solid blue background symbolizes unity and oneness. Colors: Blue - denotes ascendancy, vibrancy and vitality Yellow - symbolizes good fortune and abundance.

Background colour represent Europe as continent. Dot in the centre symbolises the unity of the peoples of the continent. Hands like forms embraces this unity from all over.

The circle represents unity and oneness. The small dot next to the circle represents the basic values of the EU, which other European nations are also needed to acquire to join the union. The blue color represents prosperity, freedom and justice. The white color represents peace and purity.

The idea is to represent Europe as it is, place where all have same chances regardless of their skin color and everybody is considered a citizen.

The idea was to show people of different origins and cultures converging to the same location/destination (Europe) in perfect harmony. Here the people are represented by perfect circles of various sizes to show age, gender and race all mixed together. The shape formed by the perfect circles is a STAR which has many positive connotations like bright, guide, unique, freedom and many more. The STAR symbol also ties it back to the original logo which has sustain the test of time. To conclude, Starverge is a simple symbol that is memorable and pack with powerful meanings.

When everything is going wrong we must starting over.

The bonding together of members of an organization/unit in such a way as to sustain their will and commitment to each other, their unit, and the mission (William Henderson, 1985). The Symbol of the waves represents the Free-Flow of the EU - freedom, pride and understanding. The horizon rising with the stars shows the commitment and the liberty of the EU to the European Nations.

Green represents nature and red represents the heart. The two circles intertwine to form Mobius strip, a symbol of eternity. It is representative of nature and the heart and their eternal existence together.

The three white lines are the ones of the E of Europe. In this way, there is the stylization of a building, like the classical ones that we can find around europe. Most of them are museums, libraries, universities and other places where we can find a cultural mix.

Eurobase should not be a logotype. It may be a universal sign. It should symbolise Europe according to the conceptions of space, time and identity which evolved in our digital and global era.

The on/off button can be taken as a symbol for connection referring to the digital era. europe is connected and online. borders are fading and people are in touch with eachother no matter where they are, and which nation they come from.

eUROPE IS OUR “WEDDING RING” THE DESIGNED NEW CHARACTER “e-RING” CORRESPONDS TO THE EVOLUTION OF THE "e" OF eUROPE INTO THE “RING” WHICH UNITS ALL MEMBERS AND CITIZENS OF eUROPE. IN ADDITION, THE THREE STARS SYMBOLIZE THAT PEACE, FREEDOM AND PROSPERITY ARE OUR COMMON WILL.

The background becomes yellow (gold) because of the countless gold stars. It represents the combination of culture and variations of Europe which is not limited to the number 12. Still all of the gold stars make a single point at the center of the emblem to signify unity. The emblem can also be interpreted as a blossom or the Earth center-point that gives the sense of happiness and strength.

Our sign means neverending culture history and developing, thanks to multicultural merge. White colour means light which is the fusion of all colours.

Three lines like in the capital letter "E" are going to create an "e": it's less institutional but it is created by different things, and also it is a circle, that is a strong/perfect figure. In this way, we can say that the mix of different culture is creating something of perfect. At the same time, the "e" it is not finished because this kind of process is always an evolution. It's end-less and the end has no end.

The sun has replaced the stars. The day will prevail over night. Europe has become a beacon of light to the world. White for peace. Yellow for a better future.

The third version of the design "old members/new members". The difference with the version 2 is the use of colours.

"ONE EUROPE" The intertwining letter "Es" are the elements in the design. The symbol emphasizes the concept of unity. It signifies communication, participation and partnership among European countries. The symbol is hued in graduated screens of blue and yellow to symbolize a forward-moving Europe. The colors blue and yellow also complement each other.

My Idea is a typografic and graphic solution. It symbolize the E for europe. In the two colours who are already published and has the recognition value.

The peace reing in the 27 states of the UE.

The design of this flag expresses unity of the countries in the European Union. The compass star, in the middle of the design unites the countries from North, South, East and West. The green is used to symbolise earth and blue to symbolise water. The green circle symbolises unity, and the joining of the countries within the European Union.

A circle, a symbol of unity, divided up into four sections to represent the individual countries within the EU, rotated round to create a square. This is then turned on its point to reference a compass, the geography of Europe. The central white cross represents placing your vote in the box for democracy.

Only one yellow star on the blue field stands for: ONE FOR ALL (...and ALL FOR ONE), no matter which and how many of us are the parts of EU. Outline represents the chain of mambers.

Embracing unity in diversity, the design invites views and revisioning, instead of offering a fixed model. The set of stars on a blue surface becomes a playground to redesign our visions for Europe. Compiled into one big flag are now those from Sibiu, ECC2007. The doormat symbolises a welcoming Europe; the stars depict hope in a common future. However assembled, together they form our Europe.

It is the member countries which together forms European Union.EU is a basically a combined effort of its member countries.Altogether it is the member countries which equally coordinates to enhance the political, economical & social co-operation,which is what the aim of EU. The no. of different joining hands shows off that all together its members which stands in unity without any discrimination to safeguard the interests of EU. All the hands are in same color which says that there is no barrier among its member countries that holds them to be together. The 12 hands is nothing to do with the member countries, its a symbol of unity & completeness.Blue flag is the representation of west.. The color of the hands is golden because it is the hand which has the capability to convert anything into gold & its a symbol of glory that the GOD has bestowed.

The concept of this flag can be put in connection with seven virtues of the Christian tradition, on a vertical axis, the red representing the love / the charity, the White (origin and result(profit) of the union of six other colors) represent the faith / confidence(trust), the green for the hope. On a horizontal plan in connection with four cardinal points the yellow for the caution / wisdom, the purple for the total abstinence, the orange for the justice / harmony and finally the blue for the spiritual strength. 6 characters in the colors of the rainbow symbolize these peoples of any origins, gathered in a round, each bringing all their human qualities for the construction of Europe (symbolized by the seventh color the white) itself contributing to the life of each of these peoples.

Maintain graphic consistency with the previous flags but we summarize the number of stars in an one single open star.

The hand of all the colors is like Europe: a new but different, but consists of many unique and united.

The twelve stars are in a circular order that interprets the unity and continuity in time. The number 12 is a symbol of perfection and unity. The identical size of the stars and uniform spatial order interprets the equality. The sequence of the colors in the stars is achieved according to the color spectrum of light which is finally integrated into a circle. The color spectrum symbolize the diversity in cultures, languages, traditions and believes and the continuity and integration into a circle, the interaction, solidarity and the union of Europe. The intense and bright colors interprets health and liveness.

Though the european union is a fact, her inhabitants have a strong tendency to vote against further development of the Union. In fact, there is a strong tendency towards nationalism. Hence, there is a strong no-vote towards the union. The stars are low-rated empty.

The Eye symbols an united vision of one Europe. A vision that all the different people are working for a united goal. To create a better life, for itself and for each other with respect and love. The Eye looks into our souls, surge for a inner balance all the colours of the flags are united within. One Europe means one world.

Europe's dynamics will outdate the symbol too soon. Eurownway is inspired bij subway network maps. Europe can be seen as a large, fast growing network. A solid system where democracy, freedom of speech and cohesion are keywords. A framework with restrictions but no boundaries. The symbol is based on a typographic EU 'buildingblock'. The base for a modulair system. The actual symbol is composed by three buildingblocks each time in a different composition. The numbers 3 and 7 are symbolic for impeccable, alliance and interconnection. The colors are recognizable for the public as it is the same combination as the current Europe symbol.

In the Origins of Totalitarianism (1952), Hannah Arendt argues that the greatest danger of totalitarianism is that mankind is being “compressed if with an iron hand”, until the point you’re left with “one Mankind of giant proportions”. Since the foundation of the European Union in 1955, individual member states merge together till one stronghold. A process where physical and mental borders dissolve and the EU as superpower will continue to expand. So could we speak of the EU as totalitarianism and we as Europeans sharing our believes in one flag, one national anthem, one constitution and even one God according to Dutch politician Wilders. If identity will develop in such a direction, uniqueness will be lost and be replaced by totalitarian superpowers. When more and more people in the next generation identify with an uniform European identity it could lead to a megalomaniacal cultural impoverishment. The 21st century could well become the century of totalitarianism.

good morning, for a logo such as the flag of the Europe, I choose to represent all members of the European community in their entrance order in Europe. Even it can look like complex at first, it can be understood easily. Having flags in a circle accentuates this idea of united Europe. The background color didn't change.

The continuous, universal ring, intertwining infinitely in 3-dimensions, represents the connection between the past and future, the history that connects the European nations to one another, the heritage of the original member nations, and the inclusion of new nations in the future, while honoring the legacy of the original design.

People,with same goals, are represented by mixed squares to form a new shape. "Equality" conveyed by the regular shape of the square combined with another similar figure. This new association creates a green square symbolising revival. A green center like an union of 2 colours: - the "blue" to symbolize the sky and occidental countries -the "yellow" to express light and life. There are the purpose of various people, federated in a common objective.

I asked myself what Europa means to the people, and what Europa wants to represent to them. So after I had made my research, i found this motto “UNION IN DIVERSITY”, With a symbol: the circle means unity, and the 2 lines diversity - almost equal, but different! Why have i used this color? Because the blue represents the union and the yellow represents the diversity.

As the internet connects people in this era, each star is representing a country domain and that makes an irregular but natural position for each member of the EU. There, it becomes a symbol, an arrangement understandable for the members of this community.

The submitted European flag is a combination of outlines of the EU member states and a self-made font which shows the EU-writing.

The design is derived from the existing flags of the Member States and is thus highly democratic. The different colored areas were broken down into its components. This results in percentage surface areas of the flag colors - similar to the percentages of a party in an election. The colors are distributed according to their shares on the surface of the new flag.

Loyalty and peace, in equal parts, is represented by the dark blue and white background. One golden center star is the symbol of the nations being united. The shield represents the nobility of the European peoples. The twelve golden and bright white sun rays represent the fountain of life and the persistence for peace and is a symbol of completeness. The golden band represents honor.

My design for the European flag reflects the collective motto ‘In Varietate Concordia‘ : ‘Unity in Diversity’ The twelve lines or ‘paths‘, the colours of which are derived from the chromatic circle, represent the diverse origins, cultures, philosophies and politics of the European States. Although the paths start at differing points, they finally converge into a single entity : Unity in Diversity...

The colours and the basic form keep the recognition value of EUROpa. It's similar to the „POWer [Button]]“, but also reminds remotely of the Europe TauRUS with its horns. The circle is solid, but not static; it's not closed; there's movement, space for changes; it moves and grows with the constantly changing and expanding world.

This concept looks toward the future of the digital age with the EU symbol embracing binary. Utilising the existing colours of the EU flag, Binary builds upon the inherit unifying nature of binary and the number 12. Expressing the number of member state (27) in a 12 digit binary - 000000011011 - this can be expanded upon to represent up to 4,095!

Maze I was inspired from “Europe has become a very fine maze of identities. “ I agree with that and wanted to do a simple sign representing structure like a maze which goes from one direction to another, change angles but still stay together in one shape.

Just as the UN flag is a worldwide unifying symbol so to can this flag unify Europe. It is not associated with a single country, ethnicity or political ideology. Geography and shared ancient heritage are the unifying factors. Also this is a harmony of energy. Gives a good economy and harmony life for all people that are living in European Union. So at the end we have bird Fenix in Euro, what is the symbolized the rising Euro.

Migration of flock of colourful birds presents difference between the nations, freedom under the same sky, union in searching of common goals, order and collectively course. In all views a modern, plain and recognizable aproach to present the union on the flag.
