The workshop 'Unity and/or diversity for Europe', organised by VIDE, ended last Saturday evening with a presentation of all the concepts developed by the participating students. The audience, among whom Ludolf van Hasselt, head of the European Commission in The Netherlands, was very enthusiastic about the results presented to them. The students were proud of the concepts they had developed and had enjoyed their stay in Den Haag.

One of the concepts, presented by Elvin Evren from Turkey, was the introduction of a free European museum pass. Nina Thöming and Jana Lina Berkenbusch, Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, presented their concept 'Crossing Europe': special street crossings with additional information about Europe. Ferguut den Boer (Royal Academy of Art, Den Haag) suggested a European dating service: to create Europeans, European citizens should only marry persons from another European country.

The results of this workshop will be presented during the programme of Design and Government in 2010.
