The 30 students who worked on the project 'European Bench', commissioned by Design Den Haag, have given a presentation of their final concepts. During one semester the students worked on the assignment to design inter-European meeting places in parks and squares in European governmental cities.
The students were inspired by existing benches, the public space, new technologies, interaction with the environment and other European cities. This was the basis for diverse, inspiring and innovative proposals. The assignment was not only about a design, the students had to think about a name for the bench, feasibility and associated costs.
The workshop was part of the minor 'Global Design and Manufacturing' with students of the Bachelor Industrial Product Design and Human Technology.
