Exhibition Soft City

31.08.2009

Hariton Pushwagner (1940, Oslo) is a controversial artist who, in the seventies, drew a 'cartoonesk' commentary on the fast developing urban architecture. It is interesting to see how in his vision we all live in the same apartments, drive the same cars, shop at the same malls and all the men and women who live together look alike and have children the same age.

A large part of the pictoral novel 'Soft City' (1969 - 1975) is on view in the exhibition in Stroom Den Haag, together with works by Azra Aksamija and Dubravka Sekulic.

Design Den Haag 2010-2018 supports the participation of Pushwagner in the exhibition to provide the government and the creative community with material for discussion and reflection on public space and architecture.
